Some interesting info about Cast Steel Lift
Forklift Forks And Hundreds
Under normal operating conditions, forks must be inspected every day and given a radical inspection each six months. Operators should make visible inspection of forks through the pre-start-up test earlier than their work begins. The check will give particular consideration to everlasting distortions and cracks. At six months a thorough inspection of forks must be done. This inspection should be carried out by a educated individual, to verify for any cracks, distortion, and extreme wear on the forks. Forks may need inspections more usually, relying on the use of the equipment.
The educated inspector at six months will test the fork blades for wear. Forks are always subjected to abrasion by concrete flooring, steel shelving, etc. This abrasion can scale back the thickness of a fork till it can't elevate loads as much as the designed capacity. The inspector can have a gauge to examine for thickness.
The inspector may also check for distortion. Forks may be bent out of shape. Depending on distortion, some forks might be straightened. Verify for cracks in heel and hanger. Cracks could seem on forks where attachments are welded on or in the inside radius of the bend area. Periodic inspection utilizing a magnetic particle or dye penetrate test can detect cracks. Contact your forklift provider or the producer for additional information.
Don't repair your individual forks. Nobody however the fork manufacturer ought to undertake the repair of forks. Additionally, do not modify forks with out consulting with your forklift supplier. The in-house restore or modification can drastically reduce the energy of the forks.
If substitute is needed, substitute with good quality forks. When ordering forks, make sure you are getting high quality forks that will do your lifting jobs safely. Insist on solid forks or ones with an upset heel. In buying new forks use the correct forks. Custom-designed forks are designed to deal with particular supplies reminiscent of uncommon lifting situations, spark-free areas, high heat furnace areas, and special object lifting. The best place for info is the company that companies or inspects the forklift and even the unique manufacturer.
Forks are like forklifts; don't overload the forks. Operators ought to concentrate on the capacity of the forklift and the capability of the forks. Overloading may bend and weaken forks. Don't exceed the really useful load restrict of your raise truck. Every raise truck has a most load limit. The load restrict is proven on the info plate of the elevate truck. This plate must also reflect the attachments which are used on the truck. The unique chart relies on the usual forks provided with the forklift. An eight hundred pound clamp attachment will change the lifting means of the forklift from customary forks.
Position the load based on the really helpful load center on the chart. The load limit of the raise truck decreases because the load center is raised. Don't add further weight to counterbalance of the forklift. If the again tires come off the bottom whereas lifting a load, the forklift is simply too small for that specific load. While shifting loads, keep masses close to the front wheels to maintain lift truck stable.
Forks are essential items of kit and should be visually inspected daily. The check must be a part of the pre-begin-up check list; the forks should be thorough inspected a minimum of each six months. Relying on the tasks required, the thorough inspection of the forks might must be scheduled earlier.

Questions on Cast Steel Lift
Riston pin locks with KB pistons?
I am building a street/strip motor for my camaro, I have an isky 274mega cam, edelbrock performer rpm intake with a holley 750, WP sportsman 2 heads, and scat prostock I beam rods with a scat cast steel crank, I have been looking through summit and I am thinking about going with these pistons UEM-9902HC040-8, they are flat tops with 2 valve relieves they are keith black pistons, I want to know if these will come with the pin locks or if I am going to have to buy them seperate, also I have tried to contact iskendarian about what stall I need for this cam and they havent responded, it has a 2200-6500 rpm powerband according to them and for a similar cam in their catologue with the same rpm range they say it can use stock stall, I think it is probably going to need 2000-2400rpm stall, the cams specs are in./ex. durration 274/274 @.050 227/227 lift in./ex. .520/.520 with my 1.6 rockers lca is 108, overlap is 58 deg. Thank you
Ok, 1st off I would not rec KB hyper pistons. They have had the highest failure rate of all the hyper pistons. They expend (swell) more than other brands and can cause the end gaps of rings to butt together and that leads to broke off ring lands. Even KB tells you to file the rings to a larger gap when using those pistons.
Speed pro/sealed power is the better hyper pistons.
Looks like its a press fit or floating pin lock.. What type lock is your rods? I think the pro comp scat rods are floating. Most likly you will have to buy the locks
Your gonna backwards on your build though. You need to pick pistons (compression ratio) before you do a cam. The cam has to match the compression to keep it from pinging or having lack of low rpm torque.
Your 227* @.050" 108 LSA cam can't work with too high of compression. I would say 10:1 is max and thats pushing it before you get detonation due to too high of cyl pressure.
Those pistons should be ok with that cam though
That combo will need atleast a 2600 stall converter but a 2800 would be better
Thank you for visiting our shop. Hopefully you have found the Cast Steel Lift you were wanting to own.
