1979 honda xr 80 wont start?
This bike sat in my dads garage for the last 8 years without being run or worked on. He just had a rag stuffed in the spark plug hole. I asked if I could have it to fix up and run. He said it just needed to have to carb cleaned get a spark plug and change the oil. So that's what I did. Well when you go to kick start it the arm just goes down a little. I think it doesn't have compression. However I'm not a motorcycle expert. so what do you suggest I do to get it running. It's a vintage bike and so I really wanna restore it and get it running. Please help! Thanks
I would probalby go one better and put a couple ounces of WD-40 into the spark plug holes, let it sit for an hour or two.. then try the high gear rocking to free it up. But also, do yourself a favor and drain the gas tank and gas line and put fresh fuel in so that you don't clog the carbs if and when it DOES start up.
