Paste FURNITURE WAX Versus Furniture Polish

The old fashioned process used to care for wood home furniture is to use FURNITURE WAX. That type of wax is commonly offered as a paste, noticeably comparable to car wax, and remains fairly easy to discover in quite a few home improvement stores. By covering wood with wax, you also manage to safeguard it from moisture and dust. Maintaining a substantial coat of wax on your wood furniture will additionally protect them from drying out, since the wax could lock any accessible moisture into the wood in addition to blocking moisture from without.

Waxing wood furnishings with paste wax will not be a challenging project, but it is labor intensive. Waxing a few good sized pieces of furniture can involve an hour or more, but this waxing only is required to be carried out a few times a year, with normal dusting the rest of the time.  Start by getting a clean, lint-free cloth, folding it tightly and covering it with clear or amber paste wax. If you observe clumps of wax clinging to the cloth, there is too much wax and it will have to be taken off.  After the cloth is prepared, gently stroke the wax over the wood until it’s totally coated. Permit the wax to dry, then buff the surface until it acquires a shine.

Applying too much wax or waxing your furniture too much could dull the shine. You could buff waxed surfaces regularly with a soft cloth to recover the shine, and simply re-wax the surface when the occasional buffing doesn't recover the shine. The primary appeal to using paste wax on the surfaces is the deep shine which cannot be duplicated by different compounds.

Nowadays, it has become more common to use aerosol furniture polish instead of Furnitute Project. This spray-on polish is easier to make use of, smells much better than paste wax, and could be employed more often without creating buildup. To polish your furniture, basically spray the polish across the wood and wipe it clean with a lint free cloth. After a minute or two, the polish will be sufficiently dry so that the surface is functional. The rewards to utilizing aerosol polish instead of paste wax are the convenience, the fragrance, and you won’t have to worry about wax buildup. The visible drawback of polish is, you won’t be able to copy the shine accomplished by buffing Futon Furniture, additionally, the polish is not going to safeguard your wood as effectively against water.

Your choice between those two means of furniture maintenance will depend on both your personal priorities and the amount of cleaning time available. The main thing is to make use of one of these goods consistently to keep your wood surfaces clean and attractive.

Questions on Towels Rags Home

Housecleaning, am I getting gipped?

I currently cleaning house for a family once a week. Not sure the square footage but i know it is atleast 2500-3000 sq. ft if not more. It is a two story, 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom house. I do deep cleaning as well as general cleaning. I mopped by hand with rag and towel because it is what she prefers. I scrub showers and bathtubs, baseboards, windows, dust, bathroom cleaning. I am there from 4-8pm which is 4 hrs. She pays me $40 each time. If I finish early she has me do the guest house, is this a fair rate?

The reason i was asking is because I just recently started cleaning another house and this is a one bedroom 2 bath home, I am typically there for 3 hrs and they pay me $80 each visit.

Any feedback would be great!

Also, I live in New Orleans, LA.

I do professional house cleaning through a company and I get paid more than that. I used to do private house cleaning and i charged by the hour. NEVER give a flat rate. I would say you should be charging $15- $20/ hr. So you are definitely being taken advantage of.
