What size tap should I use?
I need to drill a hole and thread it to accept the male end of a 5/16 brass fitting. I know that U.S. standard NPT (pipe thread) taps are slightly tapered. I can find 1/4 & 3/8 in NPT, but what do I use for 5/16?
5/16" is not a standard pipe thread, it will be either 3/8" or 1/4". the taper for ntp thread is 3/4" per foot
