What's happening? My car makes a horrible clinging sound when I accelerate......?
In a gear, or even when I put no gear and release the clutch. The only time it drives ok is in 5th gear.
And it's easy to change gears.
Could it be ear-box oil? Or smth more serious??.......

that was gear-box oil, not ear-box. My ear-box is fine, by the way.....
oooh thanks GB of course! Accelerating in a gear is some pressure on the clutch.......

clinging, whistling, rusty squeaking and then- like a tank's canon making love to an iron wall......VERY loud horrible noise.....
It's whether i drive straight or turn......it's as soon as I accelerate...

"clinging sound" can you be more exact with the problem...sounds like a prob. with your clutch/gearbox..
does it shutter.?does it have trouble taking off and stall..when you put car in neutral and rev it up do you still "clinging noise"? if you put it in nuatral and push car fowards does it make the sound?? maybe you've got too much clutch and it needs adjusting/replacing or its worn out..?
ok just read ur update...be carefull if its making horrible noise sounds like drivetrain....what about driveshafts..uni joints??
does it happen in straight line or just when you go round corner..?/
I would take/push it to mechanic to look at doesnt sound good..get a quote anyway..
Have you noticed it dropping Gear oil on your garage floor..?
(its unlikly youve lost your gear oil)
