How can I preserve a signature on a guitar?? Read details please!!?
I have a Paul Reed Smith custom 24 signed by Orianthi.....the guitar has a polyurethane base coat, with a acrylic urethane top coat. She signed it with a Metallic Silver Sharpie. The signature is starting to wear off a little bit, but it takes a lot of friction to get it to come off... I want to play this guitar, I don't care about the value of the guitar going down....I just want the signature to be there forever, because I am in love with this chick!!! thanks so much!!!
you could take off all the strings and bits, then cover the whole front in sticky back plastic then replace everything, may look a bit shitty but its protecting it, that or take it to a guitar builder and get then to put a fresh layer of lacquer / varnish on it over the top!!!
